Digital Running Hour Meter Connection Diagram
Hi, in this article, we are going to see the Digital Running Hour Meter Connection Diagram and Wiring Procedure. A Digital Running Hour Meter is a device that tracks and displays the total amount of time a machine or equipment has been operating. It counts the hours and minutes whenever the machine is running. In most of the cases, it is used to count the running hour for an electrical motor. This is useful for maintenance and service schedules, ensuring that the motor or equipment is serviced on time to keep it running efficiently and prevent breakdowns.
Connection Diagram
Here, you can see the connection of a Digital Running Hour Meter with a single phase motor.
Wiring Procedure
- Connect the main power supply line to the input of the MCB. Then connect the output of the MCB to the input of the RCCB.
- Connect the output of the RCCB to the main power input terminals of the single-phase contactor. Then connect the main power output terminals of the single-phase contactor to the input terminals of the single-phase motor.
- Connect one terminal of the NO switch to the live line that comes from the output of the RCCB. Connect another terminal of the NO switch to one terminal of the NC switch. Connect another terminal of the NC switch to the coil terminal (A1) of the single pole contactor. Connect a live wire to the input terminal of the NC switch through the NO contacts of the Contactor.
- Connect the Coil terminal (A2) to the neutral wire directly.
- Connect the live and neutral lines from the Contactor Coil A1 and A2 to the power input terminals of the digital running hour meter.
If your digital running hour meter has separate terminals for power input and sensing input then follow the below procedure,
- Connect the live and neutral lines from the output of the RCCB to the power input terminals of the digital running hour meter.
- Connect the sensing input of the digital running hour meter to the output terminal of the single pole contactor (the same terminal that goes to the single-phase motor).
Working Principle
The main power goes through the MCB and RCCB, which protect the circuit from problems like too much current or electrical faults.
The contactor acts like a big switch that turns the motor on and off.
There are two control switches: NO (normally open) and NC (normally closed).
Pressing the NO switch allows electricity to flow through the NC switch to the contactor coil.
When electricity reaches the contactor coil (A1), it activates the contactor, turning on the motor.
The digital running hour meter is connected to the same power line as the contactor coil. It only counts the time when the motor is running, tracking how long the motor has been operating.
