Online Voltage Divider Calculator
Here, using our Online Voltage Divider or Voltage Division calculator you can calculate the output voltage and voltage drop across each resistor. You just have to enter two resistor values and the input voltage. You can calculate for both no-load circuits and loaded circuits. Even you can add unlimited resistors for the calculation.

How to use This Calculator?
Here are the procedures for using the Voltage Divider Calculator:
For Two Resistors:
1. Input Voltage: Enter the input voltage (Vin) in volts. This represents the voltage that you want to divide using the voltage divider circuit.
2. Resistance 1: Enter the resistance (R1) in ohms. This represents the resistance connected in series with the input voltage.
3. Resistance 2: Enter the resistance (R2) in ohms. This represents the resistance connected in series with Resistor 1 and in parallel with the output of the voltage divider.
4. (Optional)Load Resistance: Enter the load resistance (Rload) in ohms. If your circuit has not any load the no need to enter the load resistance. keep it blank.
5. Click the "Calculate" Button: Once you have entered the values for the input voltage (Vin), resistance (R1), and resistance (R2), click the "Calculate" button. This will trigger the calculation of the output voltage and voltage drops across the resistors.
6. View Result: After clicking the "Calculate" button, the calculated values will be displayed in the designated output fields. The output voltage (Vout) represents the voltage obtained at the junction between the two resistors. The voltage drop across R1 (V1) and R2 (V2) represents the voltage across each individual resistor. Remember that the voltage drop across R2 showing for no load condition. At the load condition, the voltage drop across R2 and voltage across the load (Vload) is the same.
The additional results such as voltage across the load (Vload), the power delivered to the load (Pload), current flow through the load (Iload), current supplied by the source (Iin), power supplied by the source (Psource), and the percentage of total power received by the load will be displayed if you entered the load resistance value otherwise it will show blank.
For Multiple Resistors:
1. Input Voltage: Enter the input voltage in the "Input Voltage" field. Input the voltage value and select the appropriate unit (V, mV, or µV).
2. Resistance Value: Enter the value and unit of the resistors in the "Resistor" fields. Start with the first resistor labeled "Resistor 1" and continue adding more resistors using the "Add Resistor" button if needed.
3. Click on the "Calculate" button to perform the calculation.
4. The results will be displayed in the "Results" section below the calculator.
Note: Make sure to enter valid numerical values and units as required by each input field.
Formulas
Here are the formulas the calculator used to perform calculations,
Calculation of Output Voltage (Vout):
Vout = (R2 / (R1 + R2)) * Vin
The calculator calculates the output voltage (Vout) by multiplying the input voltage (Vin) by the ratio of the second resistor (R2) to the total resistance (R1 + R2). It represents the voltage obtained at the junction between the two resistors.
Calculation of Voltage Drop across R1 (V1):
V1 = (Vin / (R1 + R2)) * R1
The calculator calculates the voltage drop across the first resistor (V1) by multiplying the input voltage (Vin) by the ratio of the first resistor (R1) to the total resistance (R1 + R2). It represents the voltage across R1.
Calculation of Voltage Drop across R2 (V2):
V2 = (Vin / (R1 + R2)) * R2
The calculator calculates the voltage drop across the second resistor (V2) by multiplying the input voltage (Vin) by the ratio of the second resistor (R2) to the total resistance (R1 + R2). It represents the voltage across R2.
