Smart WiFi Circuit Breaker Wiring Diagram and Connection Procedure
A smart Wi-Fi circuit breaker has so many advantages and additional features over a normal conventional circuit breaker. Here, in this article, we are going to see the wiring diagram and connection procedure of a smart WiFi circuit breaker. It is basically a Miniature Circuit Breaker or MCB that can be connected to our smartphone through a WiFi network for operating remotely.
The main Features of the WiFi Circuit Breakers are,
- It can be turned off or turned remotely through a smartphone.
- It can give shirt circuit protection and send a notification to your smartphone.
- It can also give overcurrent protection and send a notification to your smartphone.
- You can see the different parameters such as On/Off/Trip Status, Operating Voltage, Operating Current, Wattage, etc in your smartphone application.
Wiring Diagram
You can see the wiring diagram of the Wifi MCB is very similar to our normal conventional MCBs.
Here, we have shown a 230V single-phase wifi circuit breaker. If your country uses a 120V power supply then use a 120V circuit breaker.
Connection Procedure
- First, identify the input and output sides of the circuit breaker.
- Also, identify the phase and neutral terminals.
- Connect the input power supply lines to the circuit breaker. It is good to connect with your distribution board if installed in a home or any domestic area.
- Connect the output to the device that is to be operated or protected. You can use the wifi circuit breaker with Air conditioners, refrigerators, Lights, Fans, Washing Machines, and other devices.
Operation
- After connecting the circuit breaker install the application on your smartphone. It can be done by scanning the QR code given on the circuit breaker or the instructions given by the manufacturer.
- After installing the application pair your smartphone with the circuit by enabling the Wifi network in your phone.
- Now open the application to operate the circuit breaker and see all the useful information on the display.
When the circuit breaker is in the On condition, you can see the status ON on your smartphone. Even when your circuit breaker is tripped for some fault, you will see the TRIP status on the smartphone.
