IC LM3916, LM3915, and LM3914 Pinout Diagram, Specification
IC LM3916, LM3915, and LM3914 are LED Driver ICs. They are mainly used to drive the dot or bar displays. IC LM3914 was founded by National Semiconductor in 1980. It can drive up to 10 LEDs. It has a total of 18 pins. In fact, all these ICs have the same pin numbers with the same identifications. 10 pins among these pins are for the connection of LEDs and others are to control the IC. Difference between IC LM3916, LM3915, and LM 3914
We know that these ICs are built with comparators that are connected to ten internal resistors as a voltage divider. The main difference between these ICs is the value of ten internal resistors.
The IC LM3914 has all ten resistors of 1000 ohms.
The IC LM3915 has internal resistors with the values of 6630, 4690, 3310, 2340, 1660, 1170, 830, 590, 410, and 1000 ohm
The IC LM3916 has internal resistors with the values of 1087, 970, 864, 769, 1298, 1031, 819, 923, 1531, and 708 ohm
Otherwise all the specifications including input voltage, output voltage, and current are the same for all three ICs.
