Cat5 Color Code - T568A and T568B
Here, in this article, we are going to see the Cat5 Color Code. Cat5 is the short form for Category 5. It refers to a type of twisted pair cable used in different networking applications. It is part of a series of specifications for network cables defined by the Electronic Industries Association (EIA) and the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA). The specifications are commonly referred to as TIA/EIA-568. Cat5 cables are used to carry signals such as Ethernet over short to medium distances. They consist of four twisted pairs of copper wires, and the cables are terminated with RJ45 connectors. Cat5 cables support data rates up to 100 megabits per second (Mbps) and are suitable for Fast Ethernet (10/100BASE-T) applications.
