7.1 Home Theater Setup, Wiring Diagram, Connection Procedure
Hi, in this article, we are going to learn how to set up and install a 7.1 home theater at home. 7.1 home theater is also a very popular home theater among other types of home theater. It has seven satellite speakers and one subwoofer. The seven satellite speakers are - two front speakers, one center speaker, two surround speakers, and two surround back speakers.
You will get an amazing listening experience when you properly place the speakers. 7.1 Home Theater is just like a 5.1 home theater, just it has extra two satellite speakers.
7.1 Home Theater Setup Diagram and Speaker Placement
If you see the below diagram carefully, then you will get a general idea of how to place the speakers.
The placement of speakers as per the standard made by the sound experts is very difficult because there is a lot of measurement required. We can not do like that at our home. So, I have given you a basic idea for the placement of the speaker.
Keep the center speaker at the center, which means just below the TV or above the TV. It will be better if you place the speaker at a height of 1.5 meters to 2 meters from the ground. And also note that all the speakers should be at the same height from the ground. It will be better if you keep the subwoofer on the ground in the corner of a room.
Keep the two front speakers on both sides of the TV. Also, note that there is no identification or mark on the satellite speakers that which speaker where to place so you can place any speaker in anywhere following this procedure. Now the question is how to measure or distance for the placement of the speaker. You don't need to worry. You will see all the satellite speakers come with a wire and have a length. The manufacturer of the home theater gave the wire length by measurement. So place the speakers as per the length of the speaker wire, just try to maintain the height.
7.1 Home Theater Wiring and Connection Diagram
Now, it is time to connect all the speakers. Here, you can see the diagram to understand the connection easily.
Generally, most of the home theaters come with a subwoofer with an inbuilt amplifier. And all the ports are given to that subwoofer box. Generally, all the ports are given to the backside of the subwoofer box. Now follow the procedure to connect all the speakers properly.
