Headphone Jack Wiring, Connection, Terminals, PinOut, Color Codes

Hey, in this article, we are going to discuss about headphone phones. There are two types of headphones widely used for headphones, earphones, audio cables, aux cables. These two types are - TRS and TRRS Jack. TRS jack or TRS audio plug is also known as 3 pole or 3 wire jack. TRRS jack or TRRS audio plug is also known as 4 pole or 4 wire jack. Actually, this is a headphone plug about which we are talking. Most of the people told it as the headphone jack. This is wrong. The headphone jack is the female connector that is placed in devices such as mobile phones, laptops, computers where the headphone jack or male connector is plugged. Headphone plugs are used with headphones, earphones, aux cables, etc. According to the size, there are different types of headphone plugs such as 2.5mm, 3.5mm, 6.5mm, etc.

The common colour codes used for the headphone jack terminals are Blue, Red, and Green. But the different manufacturers use different colour codes. Here, green is for the ground signal, red is for the right audio signal and blue is for the left audio signal.
