What inside a mobile charger,How a Mobile Charger works
Working of a Mobile Charger:
For the reason of smaller in size, the mobile charger has a different charging circuit than a normal battery charger circuit. Modern mobile chargers work like SMPS (Switch Mode Power Supply). This type of charger can work at 110v-230v, 50Hz-60Hz. The working of a simple mobile charger is described step by step below. We have described the working of the mobile charger circuit which is shown in the below picture.1. At first, the 220-230v AC supply passes through the bridge rectifier which is made of four diodes and then it is rectified by the bridge rectifier.
2. The DC output is filtrated by a capacitor.
3. Then 220-230v DC passes through the two transistors and being converted into a high-frequency AC signal.
4. The high-frequency AC signals again pass through capacitors for power factor correction and filter which increases the efficiency of the circuit.
5. Then the filtrate high-frequency AC signal goes to the pulse transformer which steps down the voltage to 5v.
6. The 5v AC is converted to DC by a diode.
7. The DC output is filtrated by a capacitor.
8. Then the pure DC is supplied to the mobile to charge the battery.
As the size of the transformer and capacitance are inversely proportional to the frequency, at first the supply AC voltage is converted to DC and again it is converted to a High-frequency AC signal. This process helps to reduce the size of the charger.
This was the simple working principle of a Mobile Charger.
